Dr Jennifer Chan
General Adult Psychiatrist
Jennifer is a General Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist with a special interest in the assessment, treatment and psychotherapy for people with anxiety, depression and a history of trauma. She is also passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of young adults and women/couples during the perinatal period.
Jennifer completed her medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2005, trained in psychiatry within the South East Sydney network and obtained her Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) in 2015. She has also done sub-speciality training in Psychotherapies with the RANZCP and is a member of the Faculty of Psychotherapy. She completed her advanced training in youth mental health, perinatal psychiatry, and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Jennifer aims to formulate a collaborative and individualised care plan with her patients following a thorough clinical assessment, which may take place over a few sessions.
Jennifer has been in private practice since May 2016, worked as a Staff Specialist at the Royal Hospital for Women and Prince of Wales Hospitals since September 2016. She is currently working with the Comprehensive Assessment Service for Psychosis and At-Risk (CASPAR), which is a part of the South East Sydney Health District and Headspace National Youth Mental Health Foundation.

Dr Jennifer Chan is not able to take on any long-term psychotherapy patients at this time.
Dr Jennifer Chan may be able to provide an assessment and collaborate with you to develop a Management Plan (item number 291) if you have a regular GP for your ongoing mental health care needs.
You would need a referral letter from your GP asking for an assessment and management plan.
